Classical, with a lot of sex appeal

Others remember her as the wealthiest young entertainer under 30 in the UK in 2006.But classical violinist and crossover artiste Vanessa Mae refuses to be tied down by such nomenclature. Ask her about injecting classical music with a generous amount of sex appeal, and she says, "For my performance, my dress is always decided at the last moment. It's literally five minutes before the show begins. I don't plan what I will wear." A child prodigy, Vanessa is amongst the most recognisable names in classical music today. But she is not satisfied. "Later on when I look back at these years, I want to be proud of every album that I have made. I want to do a variety of work so that each album is distinct," she says.
But right now, her focus is India where she recently performed with Ustad Nishat Khan. She says, "There are so many places I want to visit like the Taj Mahal and Goa. But it won't be possible this time, I will have to come back for a vacation for that. I would also like to play the violin in a Hindi film."
